Bend High Desert Honey & Cascade Wildflower Festival 2030

Honey Festival · July 18–19, 2030 · Bend, Oregon

Bend — the thriving outdoor recreation and craft beverage capital of Central Oregon in Deschutes County on the eastern slope of the Cascade Range — occupies a dramatic ponderosa pine and high-desert sagebrush landscape where beekeepers harvest distinctive bitterbrush, rabbitbrush, buckwheat, phacelia, and Cascade mountain wildflower honey from apiaries ranging from the Deschutes River canyon to the Three Sisters volcanic foothills. This July festival at Drake Park celebrates the growing Central Oregon beekeeping community with honey variety tastings, mead and honey beer pairings from Bend's celebrated craft beverage scene, guided walks through the Deschutes River Trail riparian wildflower corridor, and educational programs from Central Oregon Community College beekeeping instructors. The event highlights how Bend's unique combination of volcanic soil chemistry, dramatic elevation changes, and intact high-desert plant communities creates honey varietals found nowhere else in the Pacific Northwest.
