Honey Expo · June 14–16, 2028 · Greenville, Delaware
Greenville — a historic New Castle County hamlet at the heart of Delaware's Brandywine Valley, where the storied du Pont family estates, Winterthur Museum and Gardens, Hagley Museum, and Brandywine Creek State Park create one of the Mid-Atlantic's most botanically rich and culturally significant landscapes — sits within Delaware's most productive honey-producing region, where the Brandywine watershed's exceptional combination of tulip poplar, black locust, basswood, goldenrod, and the horticultural diversity of the valley's world-famous gardens creates honey flows unmatched elsewhere in the First State. Winterthur Museum and Garden's legendary 60-acre naturalistic woodland garden hosts this summer pollinator expo connecting Delaware's beekeeping community with the state's horticulture and conservation heritage. The expo features honey tastings from Brandywine Valley beekeepers whose apiaries benefit from Winterthur's extraordinary floral diversity; educational presentations from Delaware Beekeepers Association on colony management in the Mid-Atlantic's hot, humid summers; guided walks through Winterthur's pollinator-focused garden areas with commentary on honey plant identification; artisan honey and beeswax vendors from New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties; sessions from the Brandywine Conservancy on pollinator-friendly land management practices; and research presentations from University of Delaware entomology faculty on Delaware bee health and native pollinator conservation.
