Honey Market · April 5–6, 2029 · Conway, South Carolina
Horry County's historic county seat on the Waccamaw River hosts this April honey market celebrating the coastal plain and Carolina bay beekeeping traditions of the Grand Strand hinterland. South Carolina beekeepers from Horry, Georgetown, and Brunswick counties present gallberry, titi blossom, tupelo, saw palmetto, tallow tree, and coastal wildflower honeys gathered from the unique Carolina bay wetlands and longleaf pine savannas of the inner Grand Strand. Coastal Carolina University apiculture students co-host pollinator garden demonstrations alongside presentations on the rare carnivorous plant ecosystems of the Carolina bays where native bees and honey bees forage in some of the most botanically diverse wetland habitats on the Atlantic Coastal Plain.
