Louisiana Creole Honey & Native Pollinator Festival

Honey Festival · October 9–10, 2027 · Marrero, Louisiana

The Louisiana Creole Honey & Native Pollinator Festival celebrates the rich apiary heritage of South Louisiana, where a subtropical climate and diverse wetland flora—tupelo, tallow tree, gallberry, and citrus—produce some of the most distinctive honeys in the nation. Held at the Barataria Preserve visitor center in Jean Lafitte National Historical Park, the festival features honey tastings from bayou-country beekeepers, guided wetland hikes spotlighting native pollinators, and Creole cooking demonstrations using Louisiana honey in traditional recipes. The Louisiana Beekeepers Association hosts a honey show, and local artisans sell beeswax products and honey-infused Louisiana hot sauces.
