Michigan Upper Peninsula Honey & Wildflower Festival

Honey Festival · August 7–8, 2027 · Munising, Michigan

The Michigan Upper Peninsula Honey & Wildflower Festival highlights the rare and exceptional honeys produced in the Upper Peninsula, where vast stretches of unspoiled boreal forest, Great Lakes shoreline, and northern wildflower meadows create honey with distinctive herbal, floral, and earthy notes found nowhere else in the Midwest. Held at the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore visitor area near Munising, the festival brings together U.P. beekeepers producing boreal wildflower, basswood, fireweed, and goldenrod honeys. Guided nature walks interpret the U.P.’s remarkable native bee diversity, and evening campfire honey tastings pair local honeys with U.P. pasties, whitefish, and artisan cheeses. The Michigan Beekeepers Association presents on managing hives in extreme northern climates.
