This March festival at the Ocala Downtown Square celebrates Marion County's remarkable honey heritage through producers from across the Ocala National Forest region, competitive honey shows featuring Florida's prized gallberry, saw palmetto, and Ocala scrub wildflower mono-varietals, guided tastings pairing Florida honey with locally produced thoroughbred-region artisan foods, educational programs on the role of the Ocala National Forest in sustaining Florida's wild honey bee populations, and demonstrations connecting the ecological uniqueness of the limestone karst landscape with the flavors and terroir of Marion County's celebrated local honey.
