Ohio State University's Agricultural Technical Institute presents its annual beginning beekeeping short course for prospective and first-year beekeepers. Two-day intensive covers colony biology, equipment selection, Varroa mite management, Ohio's spring nectar flows (tulip poplar, black locust, clover), and honey extraction. Taught by OSU Extension apiculture specialists with hands-on time in teaching hives. Pre-registration required; small class sizes.
