The Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts hosts one of New England's most beloved autumn honey celebrations, set against the spectacular foliage of the Connecticut River Valley. Local beekeepers showcase exceptional basswood, apple blossom, wildflower, and goldenrod honeys produced in the fertile Champlain lowlands and surrounding Berkshire foothills. The festival features live-frame hive displays, honey extraction demonstrations, a Massachusetts honey competition judged by certified honey evaluators, artisan mead sampling, farm-to-table pairings with local cheeses and breads, and educational presentations from the UMass Amherst apiculture program.
