Staunton Shenandoah Valley Honey & Apple Country Heritage Festival 2027

Honey Festival · May 1–2, 2027 · Staunton, Virginia

Staunton — Augusta County’s independent city in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, the birthplace of Woodrow Wilson and one of Virginia’s finest preserved Victorian downtown districts where the apple orchards, basswood forests, and wildflower meadows of the central Shenandoah Valley create one of Virginia’s most celebrated honey landscapes — hosts this spring honey and apple country festival in the historic downtown. The Shenandoah Valley’s honey landscape is defined by the extraordinary apple orchard heritage of Augusta, Rockingham, and Page counties: the dense apple blossom blooms of the valley’s orchards in late April and early May produce a prized varietal honey of exceptional delicacy, while the Black Locust, basswood, and tulip poplar forests of the Blue Ridge flanks contribute the distinctive sourwood-range and mixed hardwood honeys for which central Virginia beekeepers are celebrated. The festival features Shenandoah Valley beekeepers from Augusta, Rockingham, Rockbridge, and Bath counties presenting apple-blossom, black locust, basswood, and wildflower varietal honeys; educational programs from Virginia Cooperative Extension on orchard pollination and beekeeping in apple country; artisan vendors featuring Shenandoah apple products, Virginia wines, and artisan honeys; family programs on the valley’s agricultural heritage and Civil War honey history; and guided apiary tours in the apple orchards and wildflower meadows of Augusta County.
