West Virginia Beekeepers Association Winter Short Course 2028

The West Virginia Beekeepers Association's winter short course offers hands-on education for beginning and experienced beekeepers navigating the challenges of Appalachian mountain beekeeping. Held at the WVU Extension Service campus in Morgantown, the program covers winter cluster management in cold mountain climates, spring buildup strategies for Appalachian hollows, management for sourwood and black locust production, and varroa mite control in small-scale operations. Special sessions on WV's signature sourwood honey production draw attendees from throughout the sourwood belt of the central and southern Appalachians.
