Columbia — home of the University of Missouri and gateway to the Ozark-prairie border — hosts the 2030 Columbia Boone County Honey & Missouri Prairie Heritage Festival at Stephens Lake Park. Boone County beekeepers present black locust, sweet clover, basswood, and native prairie wildflower honeys from the Katy Trail corridor and rolling MU research farmlands. Festival highlights include university extension beekeeping workshops, urban hive demonstrations on the MU campus, honey mead craft brewing seminars, and a Show-Me Honey cookbook competition.
