This August festival at Fairview Park celebrates Macon County's honey heritage through producers from across central Illinois's Macon, DeWitt, Piatt, and Sangamon counties, competitive honey shows featuring regional sweet clover, basswood, alfalfa, and black locust varietal honeys, guided tastings exploring how the Grand Prairie's distinctive agricultural mosaic produces some of the Midwest's most celebrated honey, educational programs on Illinois prairie restoration and its role in supporting pollinator populations, and demonstrations of traditional extracting methods that have shaped central Illinois beekeeping for generations.
