Delaware Valley Honey Bee Days at Longwood Gardens celebrates the essential role of honeybees and native pollinators in one of America's premier horticultural destinations. This partnership between the Delaware Beekeepers Association and Longwood Gardens features outdoor apiary demonstrations, honey tastings from Delaware and Pennsylvania beekeepers, and guided pollinator garden tours highlighting the hundreds of flowering species maintained for bee forage. Educational programming covers beginner beekeeping, the importance of planting pollinator-friendly gardens, and honey as an artisan food product. Children's activities include hive inspection in protective gear, beeswax candle rolling, and honey identification blind tastings.
