This September festival at the Campus Martius Museum and Ohio River Heritage Park celebrates Marietta's founding role in American expansion westward through the lens of its remarkable beekeeping history, featuring producers from across the Muskingum, Hocking, and Ohio River valley corridor, competitive honey classes for Ohio's distinctive basswood, tulip poplar, and black locust mono-varietal honeys, educational programs on the role of beekeeping in Ohio's colonial settlement and frontier agricultural economy, guided tours of historic Marietta homes with heritage bee gardens, and culinary programs pairing southeastern Ohio honey with the region's locally produced sorghum, apple cider, and Appalachian food traditions.
