The Nebraska State Beekeepers Association opens its demonstration apiary to the public for this annual summer event. Visitors observe active hives with experienced guides, learn about Nebraska's alfalfa and sweet clover honey industry — one of the largest in the nation — and participate in guided tastings comparing honey from different Nebraska regions and nectar sources. Beekeeping equipment vendors and local honey producers set up at the adjacent fairgrounds.
