Annual summer educational workshop hosted by the Nevada Beekeeping Association addressing the unique challenges of high-desert and Great Basin beekeeping. Topics include managing colonies through Nevada's hot summers, identifying rare desert wildflower forage including rabbitbrush, desert willow, and creosote, and water source management for apiaries. Field visits to Reno-area urban apiaries and a commercial desert operation.
