San Diego Honey & Native Pollinator Festival 2027

Honey Festival · September 18–19, 2027 · San Diego, California

San Diego's Balboa Park hosts Southern California's celebration of local honey and the native pollinators that make it possible. San Diego County boasts exceptional botanical diversity — from coastal sage scrub to chaparral to desert — producing some of California's most distinctive varietal honeys: sage honey from the coastal mesas, avocado blossom honey from Fallbrook's famous groves, citrus honey from East County orchards, and buckwheat honey from the backcountry chaparral. The festival features raw honey tasting bars with Southern California varietal comparisons, native bee habitat gardening workshops with California native plants, live observation hives, artisan mead and honey wine tastings, and educational sessions on protecting San Diego's 630+ documented bee species — one of the most biodiverse native bee populations in North America.
