South Dakota State Fair Honey Competition

The South Dakota State Fair honey competition is the state's premier showcase for prairie honey varieties. Beekeepers from across the Great Plains enter their best alfalfa, sweet clover, sunflower, and mixed wildflower honeys. Ribbons are awarded in extracted, comb, and creamed honey categories. Open daily during the fair with public sampling and youth beekeeping exhibits.
