Montana's largest city celebrates its position at the confluence of the Yellowstone River and the Beartooth Highway with this midsummer honey festival. Yellowstone County and Carbon County beekeepers bring sweet clover, alfalfa, sweetgrass wildflower, and mountain meadow honeys from rangelands stretching toward the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Festival highlights include cowboy honey cookoffs, craft mead showcases from Billings-area meaderies, and a honey photography contest capturing Montana's big sky landscapes.
