Apiary Tour · July 12, 2027 · Columbus, Nebraska
The Nebraska Honey Producers Association hosts its annual summer field day at a working honey farm in the Platte River Valley, giving beekeepers of all experience levels a rare behind-the-scenes look at large-scale commercial honey production alongside traditional sideliner operations. Nebraska's Platte Valley produces outstanding sweet white clover and alfalfa honeys, and this field day includes honey extraction house tours, queen rearing demonstrations, and a hands-on varroa mite monitoring workshop. A honey judging clinic helps producers prepare their finest varietal extractions for the Nebraska State Fair honey competition in August. Evening cookout features Nebraska beef glazed with local clover honey.
