This July festival at Heritage Park celebrates Waldo County's honey heritage through producers from across Maine's Waldo, Knox, and Lincoln counties, competitive honey shows featuring regional wild blueberry blossom, apple blossom, coastal goldenrod, and sea lavender varietal honeys, guided tastings pairing Belfast-area honey with Mid-Coast Maine's celebrated cheesemakers, oyster farmers, and artisan food producers, educational programs on the ecology of Maine's coastal blueberry barrens and their importance for both honey production and native pollinator conservation, and celebrations of the multigenerational Belfast beekeeping families whose craft has shaped Waldo County's local food identity.
