Polish buckwheat honey (miód gryczany) sold under the Lowell label by Polana, a Chicago-based online shop for Polish food. The seller says the bees forage on flowering buckwheat fields in Poland and that the honey is imported from there. It describes a deep amber colour, a bold aroma and a robust flavour with notes of malt, caramel and molasses. It may crystallize over time; standing the jar in warm water makes it liquid again. Use it on rye bread, oatmeal or yogurt, on a cheese board, in marinades, or in honey cakes and other traditional Polish baking.
